Fourth of July Outfit

I get so many comments from friends and family about how cute and funny Ellie is with all of her dressing up. I'm beginning to wonder, though, if maybe she isn't just a little bit W-E-I-R-D. And maybe I'm a total freak for actually letting her go out in public in these giddy-ups.

My mother-in-law, Janice, bought the most adorable outfit for Ellie to wear for the 4th of July...darling blue sweat pants with red buttons and a blue and white striped tank with a little red moped on the front. I couldn't wait to show her off in it at the game that night. Janice also bought her a fun, frilly apron for her to wear around the house. Ellie, however, had another idea about how the apron was going to be used and INSISTED on wearing it ALL day long. She doffed the pants, threw on her favorite frog boots, and above was her outfit of choice for the holiday. I usually let her wear her insane outfits out of the house, but I had to put my foot down on this one. She ended up wearing pants and switching out the boots for flip-flops, but the apron would not come off. Oh well.

My mom told me recently that it's probably time for this child to start school for some socialization, just so that she doesn't turn out totally cucoo. Probably so.
