The kids' Great Aunt Laurie just sent a belated gift in the mail in celebration of Charlie's birth. Well, at least that was her excuse for sending them some super fun presents. Charlie got some awesome board books, while Ellie got some super special treats just for being the Big Sister. Laurie fully admitted that the whole "gift for Charlie"-thing was really mostly an excuse to send Ellie her first set of fairy wings and a frilly, flowered, sparkly tutu. She is in heaven! I can hardly get the darned things off of her when we leave the house, for bath time, and for bed time! In fact, she went to the grocery store yesterday morning with the tutu on. She feels GORGEOUS and keeps telling me, "Mommy, I a cute little fairy." Our only problem with the whole thing so far is that she hasn't mastered the art of getting the wings back on after she's taken them off. This usually leads to a not-so-minor meltdown. What tiny bit of frustration doesn't lead to a major meltdown with Miss Eleanor these days, though?
Oh, and yes, that's a bare bottom you see poking out from underneath that tutu. She insisted. Don't worry, she had pants on when she wore the tutu to the market.
